Betsy Colquitt Award for Poetry/Frank O’Connor Award for Short Fiction
Deadline April 15, formerly April 1. Neutral free contests award $500 apiece for the best poetry and fiction published in Descant: Fort Worth's Journal of Poetry & Fiction. Additional $250 prizes are awarded annually in each category. General submission guidelines apply. Editors prefer poems 60 lines or less, stories 5,000 words or less. Submissions are read September through April; no submissions accepted May through August.
