Hiett Prize in the Humanities
Deadline May 3 (must be received by this date), formerly April 20. Highly recommended free contest from the Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture awards a $50,000 fellowship to a US resident who has not yet reached his or her full potential, but whose work in the humanities shows extraordinary promise and has a significant public component related to contemporary cultural concerns. Candidates must be within the early stages of a career track in which the primary work is in a field centered in or directly related to one or more of the humanities. Open to creative writers as well as scholars. Application must include a letter of recommendation, a curriculum vitae of no more than 4 pages, a narrative profile of accomplishments and published work, and a plan for future scholarship or projects in the humanities.
