Rebecca Swift Foundation Women Poets’ Prize
Deadline August 12 (must be received by this date), formerly August 14. Recommended free contest for women poets residing in the UK or Northern Ireland gives 3 prizes of 1,000 pounds, plus each winner is carefully matched with a poetry mentor and offered pastoral coaching, facilitating a holistic body of support that nurtures craft and personal wellbeing in equal measure. The Prize also offers a programme of support and creative professional development opportunities with the Foundation’s partners: Faber and Faber, The Literary Consultancy, Apples & Snakes, City Lit, Verve Festival, Bath Spa University, and The Poetry School. Send 3 poems, maximum 4 pages total, plus 200-word author statement and 250-word explanation of how your writing would be helped by the prize. The Rebecca Swift Foundation is a UK registered charity set up in memory of Rebecca Swift, a much-loved editor, novelist, diarist, poet, and founder and director of The Literary Consultancy from its foundation in 1996 until her early death in April 2017.
