I was born in Chicago, then raised down state, where the high school I went to was eventually closed due to lack of interest. However, I have been educated to a certain degree, though by my quitting college several times, it was ten years before I received a Bachelor's degree, and another year-and-a-half for a Master's, so that now, currently anyway, I am a master at being a bachelor. Neither of my degrees was in English, though I have extra courses in that subject (and I know was in this sentence is the technically correct verb, though were is just as correct in usage).
I have lived in far western South Dakota for eighteen years, where I am currently writing a novel, poetry, a feature film script to freelance, and nonfiction. I've also lived and worked in several countries, including Japan, France, and Hungary, and in Sarajevo, as well as in New Mexico and California in the States. I have taught adult Lakota students on the Pine Ridge Reservation.
