Deborah (Deb) Brandon, Ph.D., was born in England, raised in Israel, Switzerland, and England, and now lives in the United States. She has been a professor in the Mathematical Sciences Department at Carnegie Mellon University since 1991. She has participated nationally and internationally in dragon boating. She is a mother, a writer, and a respected textile artist.
Deb is also a brain injury survivor. Her first book, But My Brain Had Other Ideas: A Memoir of Recovery from Brain Injury, is about her journey from crisis to ongoing recovery. Her second book, Birth and Rebirth: Textile Techniques from Around the World, is forthcoming.
