Eileen P. Kennedy

Eileen P. Kennedy has been writing since she was eight years old. Her collection of poems, Banshees (Flutter Press, 2015), was nominated for a Pushcart Prize and won Honorable Mention from the New England Book Festival and the London Book Festival in 2016. Her poem "Letter to My Son" won Honorable Mention from the Oregon Poetry Society. She has published poetry in more than 25 literary journals.
She earned her doctorate in language and literacy from Fordham University, her Masters Degree from Brooklyn College in Education, and her Bachelors Degree in Journalism from the University of Missouri. She has written and published an academic book, nonfiction articles, fiction pieces and children's stories. She is retired from the faculty of Kingsborough/The City University of New York.
