Emma Sondergaard is now 15 years old, but was 9 when she both wrote and illustrated her own activity book. Emma Sondergaard is attending high school in Monterey, California. She has won several Photography Awards. She still engages in all kinds of artistic expression and also loves to play volleyball, bike, swim, and hang out with her friends! Emma is also very big on traveling and discovering new inspiring places in the world. She spends her summers with her family close to her maternal grandfather in Belgium and fraternal grandmother in Denmark. Emma created a lot of little activities to cheer up her little brother at the time of their grandmother's passing. The concept of a colorful activity book for grieving children came about when she wanted to illustrate her brother's activity book with her watercolor paintings. She realized this could also help other grieving children celebrate their loved and lost grandmothers. Goodbye, My Dear Grandma... is Emma's first book.
