Flo St. Jean is well known in the New England vocal arts community as a teacher of voice and performance skills for classical, musical theatre, and popular music singers. She has taught at the Boston Conservatory and is currently on the faculty at Rhode Island College and Bryant University, where she directs the chorus. Her private teaching includes rehabilitative work with singers recovering from vocal injuries. Her students have appeared with the Boston Pops, Boston Lyric Opera, Opera Providence, Goodspeed Opera House, Paper Mill Playhouse, in national tours, regional professional theatre, and currently on Broadway.
Flo has a lifelong passion for literature in all forms, which began with reading and writing poetry and stories in her youth. Her love for words has continued and expanded, including rewarding intersections with music, from creating musical settings of her own texts and the texts of others to exploring new avenues in her personal prose and poetry writing. Flo and Don live on a small farm in Coventry, RI.
