H. Lee Barnes lives in Las Vegas, Nevada where he teaches English and creative writing at the College of Southern Nevada. He has published three collections of short fiction—Gunning for Ho; Talk to Me, James Dean; and Minimal Damage. He has also published a novel, The Lucky, and book of creative nonfiction, Dummy Up and Deal. His awards for fiction include the Willamette Fiction Award and the Arizona Authors Fiction award. "Firefight" and "Sticking Points" are two poems in a collection in progress titled At the V.A, which represents his first serious venture into writing poetry.
