Kathleen Spivack is the author of ten books of prose and poetry (Doubleday, Graywolf, Knopf, others). Her most recent are the novel Unspeakable Things (Alfred A. Knopf, 2016), and With Robert Lowell and His Circle: Sylvia Plath, Anne Sexton, Elizabeth Bishop, Stanley Kunitz, and Others (University of New England Press, 2012). She has won awards from the Fulbright Commission, the National Endowment for the Arts, Mass Arts Councils, Discovery/92nd Street Y, the Radcliffe Institute, Yaddo, MacDowell, Ragdale, American Academy in Rome, and others.
