Paul Garrety says that "writing is the most fun you can have on your own". For Paul balance is everything; that's why at 55 he's studying to become a yoga teacher. Balance is also important in his writing, with many stories crossing genres, often combining crime, sci-fi and fantasy. In 2007 Paul won the Redlands Short Story contest in Queensland, Australia and has stories in both Zoran Zivkovic's (former World Fantasy Winner) anthologies, The Devil in Brisbane (Prime 2005) and Fantastical Journeys to Brisbane (Izvori, Zagreb 2007). In July 2008 he had two stories accepted in Crime Writers Queensland's seventh anthology, The Seventh Book of Sins. Paul has completed one novel (currently under second review with a major publisher) and is currently working on a crime/fantasy/sci-fi book.
