Steve Wolfson was born in Omaha, Nebraska and moved to St. Petersburg Beach, Florida when he was 11. He lives and creates in Regina, Saskatchewan with his wife Penny and their two 13-year-old granddaughters.
Steve started telling stories to child patients in dental school to help them relax. He sold his first piece, a satire, to the University of Minnesota Daily while taking his masters in public health. When Saskatchewan's world-renowned dental school program was shuttered, he started his career as a writer, filmmaker and consultant.
Steve's documentary films have taken him from the Canadian Arctic to Mozambique. Whereever he goes he is always interested in how children play and learn. This helps nourish his children's stories.
His first book, Monster Cheese, was born on a hike at Lake Louise when his 13-year-old sister sneezed. His other books are Elephants at the Airport, Filbert the Lonely Flamingo, and Aunty Jane Knits Up a Storm.
