Ty.Brack is an educator, poet, lyricist, and youth organizer living in Tigard, OR, with his wife of nine years, Kelley, and their beloved Maine coon, Jeter. Holding a Master of Arts in Teaching and a Bachelor of Arts in Writing from Western Oregon University, Ty has spent the last 13 years learning, growing, and making mistakes as a teacher and a poet. His poetry has recently been featured in WritersResist (Issue 104), EvePoetry.com, and the 2020 PDX Winter Poetry Festival. In March of 2020, Ty took home first-place in the Slamlandia finals (one of two Portland-based slam poetry competitions, along with Portland Poetry Slam, registered with the International Poetry Slam), and he was declared a finalist for the Portland Grand Slam championship (which was rightfully canceled due to Covid-19). Believing that poetry and the spoken word is vital for social and emotional growth, Ty.Brack also organizes youth poetry jams in his community, providing young poets the opportunity to perform, workshop, and network. See Ty's work in music, spoken word performances, and Instagram.
