BBC National Short Story Award
Deadline March 17 (must be received by this date), formerly March 18. Highly recommended free contest for UK nationals/residents aged 18+ with "a prior record of publication" awards top prize of 15,000 pounds for the best short story up to 8,000 words. Stories must either be unpublished or have been first published during the previous calendar year. See website for detailed eligibility rules. Enter online.
