Black Lawrence Press: Asian American and Pacific Islander Adoptee Anthology
Deadline June 1 (must be received by this date). Black Lawrence Press is seeking unpublished poetry by Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) adoptees across the US for the forthcoming anthology Tie Your Roots to Mine. Editors say, "This anthology will gather contemporary voices of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Adoptee Poetry to explore identity, ancestry, and the complexities of adoption. This collection offers a rare and necessary perspective on diaspora, family, and culture. Highlighting both established and emerging writers, we aim to create a space where grief, resilience, love, and transformation coexist." Send 2-3 poems of any length, with a statement of 300-500 words about your experience being an adoptee, your perspective of adoption, or your relationship to an AAPI identity, which will also be featured in the publication.
