Flash Fiction Online: “Aftermath”
Deadline July 31 (must be received by this date). Flash Fiction Online is seeking unpublished literary or speculative short fiction, 500-1,000 words, for the January 2027 issue on the theme "Aftermath", edited by Lark Morgan Lu. Editors say, "Oftentimes, stories are declared completed upon the resolution of their largest event. The dragon has been slain. The murderer has been brought to justice. A peace agreement has ended the war. A domestic violence survivor successfully and permanently escapes. This call is intended to ask: what happens after that? Submissions will close early if they reach their cap of 1,000 entries before the deadline.
