Intrepid Times Travel Writing Contest
Deadline August 31 (must be received by this date), formerly March 1. Neutral free contest gives $300 prize and online publication for a nonfiction, first-person travel story, maximum 2,000 words, on a theme that changes each time. For Summer 2025, the theme is "A Book Led Me There". Sponsored by Intrepid Times, a weekly digital publisher that exclusively features what it calls "travel writing with heart". Intrepid Times runs these themed contests on an irregular schedule, once or twice per calendar year.
