Papaya Press: Richard Siken Tribute Anthology
Deadline May 1 (must be received by this date). Papaya Press is seeking unpublished poems inspired by the work of Richard Siken for their forthcoming anthology Tell Me About the Dream, edited by award-winning poet Amanda Larson. This project commemorates the 20th-anniversary edition of Siken's debut collection, Crush (Yale Series of Younger Poets, 2004), and the upcoming release of his third poetry book, I Do Know Some Things (Copper Canyon Press). Editors say, "You are encouraged to draw inspiration from any aspect of Siken's work and to interpret the inspiration creatively. Work that recontextualizes, critiques, or in some way comments on his writing is particularly encouraged. Keep in mind that this is a celebration and a commemoration of, but not a blind tribute to, Siken's work—insightful critical perspectives are welcome." Papaya Press also welcomes pitches for criticism, visual art, or other creative responses to be included in the anthology. Send 1-3 poems and brief bio via email. Submissions are free, but a donation of $5-$10 is appreciated. Contributors receive one copy of the anthology.
