Quantum Shorts Competition
Deadline January 8 (must be received by this date), formerly December 5. Recommended free contest awards top prize of $1,500 and online publication for flash fiction stories, under 1,000 words, that are "clearly inspired by some aspect of quantum physics". For 2024, entries also must contain the phrase "Nobody said this was going to be easy". All winners receive a trophy and a one-year digital subscription to ScientificAmerican.com. Previously unpublished stories and stories published after December 1, 2021 are eligible. Content should be suitable for the general public. Limit one entry per author. Author must be age 13+.
