Simon Hendrie Wins the 13th Annual Wergle Flomp Humor Poetry Contest
Simon Hendrie of Cape Town, South Africa has won the 13th annual Wergle Flomp Humor Poetry Contest sponsored by Winning Writers. His entry, "What Will You Say When Your Child Asks: 'Why Didn't You Invest in Eastern Poland?'", bested those of 4,483 other poets to receive the $1,000 prize. A special second prize of $250 was awarded to Nancy Pagh of Bellingham, WA for "What I Sometimes Think Other Poets' Book Blurbs Must Say About Me". $2,350 was awarded in all.
