Terrapin Books Anthology: “What the House Knows”
Deadline October 31 (don't enter before September 17). Poetry press Terrapin Books seeks submissions of published or unpublished poems for What the House Knows, an anthology of poems with houses in them, to be edited by Diane Lockward. Send 1-3 poems and a short bio with a $3 entry fee via Submittable. Contributors will receive a copy of the book if they have a US address. Editors say, "Think of the house as a physical structure, and then think of the myriad associations, memories, and experiences attached to the house. Think of different kinds of houses, e.g., split level, bi-level, two-story, colonial, ranch, apartment, high rise, condo, townhouse, row house, shelter, group home, prison cell, nursing home, tenement, tent, dollhouse, outhouse, schoolhouse. Possible topics might include: leaving home, losing the house / home, homesickness / the longing for home, the body as house, Grandma’s house, storm damage to the house, first home / house, the house you wish you lived in, home away from home, Little House on the Prairie, running away from home, the house on fire."
