Now retired, Frank Light served in the Army and the Peace Corps, taught English as a foreign language, and worked as an auditor, river guide, and forest firefighter before joining the State Department. Adaptions from his draft memoir Adjust to Dust: On the Backroads of Southern Afghanistan have been published in a number of literary journals.
