Remica L. Bingham

Remica Bingham, a native of Phoenix, Arizona, received her Master of Fine Arts degree in Writing and Literature from the Writing Seminars at Bennington College. She has attended the Callaloo Creative Writing Workshops and is a Cave Canem fellow. Currently, she is working on a series of essays on the intersections between Hip-hop and contemporary poetry as well as a series of interviews with African-American writers. Her first book of poetry, entitled Conversion, is still a work-in-progress. Her work has been featured in New Letters, PMS, Crab Orchard Review, Gulf Coast, and 5 AM, among other journals. She is the recipient of the 2005 (Langston) Hughes, (David) Diop, (Etheridge) Knight Poetry Award. She resides in Norfolk, Virginia.
