Recent Honors
Congratulations to Monica Sharp. Her story "Chiaroscuro" was shortlisted for the 2025 Gilmer Prize sponsored by the literary journal CaMel and will be published in their Fall 2025 issue. The most recent deadline for this $1,000 award was May 1.
Congratulations to Joseph Stanton. Shanti Arts recently published his ninth book of poems, Kaaterskill Clove, an ekphrastic collection inspired by the artists of the Hudson River School. Five poems from this book appeared in The Ekphrastic Review in July.
Congratulations to Chen Du and Xisheng Chen. Their translation of Yan An's poetry chapbook Middle-Aged Man's Self-Portrait was published in July by Toad Press. They kindly share a sample poem here. Their translation of his poem "Discovery by a Mirror Image Researcher" appeared in Poetry Northwest, Vol. 20 #1 (Summer/Fall 2025), the literary journal of Everett Community College. In other news, their translation of Yan An's full-length poetry collection Rock Arrangement was a runner-up for Carnegie Mellon University Press' 2025 Literary Translation Prize and will be published in Fall 2026. The next submission period for this prize will be January 1-February 28.

Congratulations to Gary Beck. His novel Pirate Spring was recently published by Purple Unicorn Media. It is an adventure tale about an idealistic young Haitian man who steals from the rich to support his impoverished village.
Congratulations to Noah Berlatsky. His chapbook Myself Am Ever Mine Own Counterfeit, a collection of poems based on Michelangelo's sonnets, is now available from Bottlecap Press. His microchapbook of found-poetry, Every Hyphenated Word in Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, can be downloaded for free from Ghost City Press. His chapbook Spamtoum, a book-length pantoum collaged from phrases in spam emails, was published by above/ground press.

Angela Paolantonio's memoir The Ghosts of Italy was a Kirkus Review Editors' Pick in their July 15 issue. The review calls it "A touching memoir that should resonate deeply with anyone yearning to connect with familial roots."
Maranda Jacob's picture book Baby Cow! MOOO! (Why Parents Need a Break) is available from Xulon Press, a self-publishing company specializing in Christian books and authors.
