Sally Hinkley graduated from Plymouth State University in Plymouth, New Hampshire where she received a BA in art. She is a former Board Member of The Writers' Loft in Hudson, MA where she was also a contributor and art advisor to An Assortment of Animals: A Children's Poetry Anthology and Friends & Anemones: Ocean Poems for Children, both Writers' Loft publications. She also illustrated the historical fiction picture book Daniel Brown at the Battle of Lexington by Ellen W. Leroe. Sally now spends her days working at an agricultural school with many students, horses, cows, sheep and far too many geese. She lives in Massachusetts with her family and Elephant and Bird is her first novel.
