Although I grew up in rural West Virginia, I have lived here in Georgia for many years now and have discovered that the warm weather and slow pace fit me. I own a small place out in the country where I have a workshop and build furniture. I make coffee tables, night tables, chests of drawers, and other items for the house from such woods as oak, walnut, cherry, and maple.
My poems have appeared in nearly 300 periodicals including The Best American Poetry, Poetry, The Nation, Threepenny Review, North American Review, Chicago Review, Southern Review, Georgia Review, New England Review, Crazyhorse, Prairie Schooner, Northwest Review, Kenyon Review, American Scholar, Shenandoah, and more recently in Notre Dame Review, Evansville Review, Agni Online, Boston Review, Sou'wester, Poetry Daily, Natural Bridge, and The Hudson Review.
