Zoe Hiemstra is a student first and foremost, a senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and an eager learner about whatever topic or book has recently caught her attention. She plans to finish her double major in Creative Writing and Human and Organizational Leadership Development in May of 2025, and although she doesn't know what she plans to do upon graduation, she's excited to figure it out. She also loves advice and would take any from accomplished writers or random strangers.
With her creative writing major, Zoe plans to write her first book; a collection of essays on love and loss. Stay tuned! The publication goal is Fall 2025, but life has a particular talent of dancing with timelines.
Zoe divides her time evenly between reading a new book a week, discussing the profound and the mundane (emphasis on the mundane) with her friends, her academics and leadership program, and working in a bit of a grungy sports bar in her college town. Zoe is a teaching assistant for Foundations of Leadership at UNC-CH, and she dedicates a good portion of her life to community service, fundraising, and working with all types of students. She particularly loves traipsing through the forest, large, strange dogs, and making her peers laugh.
