Deadline January 25 (must be received by this date). Splinter Journal, an Australian literary magazine, is open to submissions of unpublished poetry, short fiction, memoir, profiles, literary essays, and criticism for their second issue. Send one prose piece or 1-3 poems via their online form. For profiles, essays, and criticism, they request that you send a pitch first, rather than the complete piece. This is a paying market: A$900 per story, A$600 per memoir, A$250 per poem. Editors say, "Our long-term goal is to mill around in the endless circles of these questions: How did we get here, into the middle of this chaos? Where are we? What does this place and time mean?
