Black Lawrence Press: Immigrant Writing Series
Deadline October 31 (must be received by this date). Launched in 2021, the Immigrant Writing Series is an imprint of well-regarded literary publisher Black Lawrence Press. They will publish two manuscripts a year. Authors receive $500, royalties, and marketing by the press. Manuscripts may be poetry, literary fiction or nonfiction, or hybrid-genre texts. Entries are accepted year-round; those received after October 31 will be considered for the June publishing cycle, and those received after May 31 will be considered for the November cycle. Submission is open to any individual living in the US who identifies as an immigrant and who either (i) was born in another country, (ii) has at least one parent who was born in another country, (iii) is a refugee, or (iv) lives in the United States under Asylum or a Protection Program, such as TPS or DACA. Maximum two entries per person per year.
