Shelby Stewart and Bea Chang Win the 33rd Annual Tom Howard/John H. Reid Fiction & Essay Contest
Shelby Stewart of Sacramento, California won first prize in fiction and $3,500 for her story, "Going and Going and Going". Bea Chang of Seattle, Washington won first prize in nonfiction and $3,500 for her essay, "Requiem for a Bubble Tea". 1,757 entries were received from around the world.
