Deadline December 31 (late entries held for next issue). Michael Patrick Nye, former editor of Missouri Review and Boulevard, is re-launching Story, a venerable literary journal founded in 1931. Story has published work that has been republished dozens of times in Best American Short Stories, The O. Henry Prize Stories, and The Pushcart Prize anthologies. Established as a nonprofit 501(c)3 in Columbus, Ohio, Story will be a triannual print publication of the best fiction and nonfiction in contemporary literature, with the third issue of every year themed and expanded to include poetry. The first issue of the re-launch will be published in February 2019. Story is committed to being an inclusive magazine publishing stories, essays, and memoirs that are engaging, entertaining, and memorable. No length limits. $3 fee for submissions. Enter online.
