Vweta Chadwick Poetry Prize
Deadline August 31 (must be received by this date; don't enter before August 10). Neutral free contest for high school and college students in Nigeria gives three prizes of 333,000 Nigerian naira (approximately US$250) apiece for unpublished, English-language poems, 40 lines maximum, on a theme that changes annually. For 2026, the theme is "Nigeria: The Nation We Want". There will be one winner in each category: Senior category (Tertiary Institution females, aged 18-26), Junior Category (Senior High School females, aged 14-18), and Male Allyship (open to males only, aged 18-26). Submit 1 poem via Google submission form on sponsor's website.
