Recent Honors
Congratulations to Kathleen Spivack. Her story "Moths" won the 2021 Gemini Magazine Short Story Contest and was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. The next deadline for this $1,000 prize will be March 31. See Gemini's complete schedule of poetry and prose contests.
Congratulations to Sharmagne Leland-St. John. Her children's book The Trip, illustrated by Melissa Bergemeier, was published this winter by Cyberwit. The Trip is the story of a little boy in Victorian England who goes on an adventure very late one night with a tiny mouse who has arrived in his room just as he is drifting off to sleep.
Congratulations to Gary Beck. His novel Still Obsessed, a thriller about a man hunting the terrorists who killed his fiancée, was published in December by Cyberwit.

The Poet Spiel's poems "Exhaling the Dream", "Naked Arms", and "Plain, Just Plain Plain" were published in Misfit Magazine, Issue #33 (Fall 2021).
Ruth Sabath Rosenthal's poetry was featured during a December 2021 event at the Museum of Jewish Heritage in New York City. The program discussed the history of Jewish refugees interned at Fort Ontario in Oswego, NY, during World War II. Watch a recording on the museum's YouTube channel. Karen Aurino's poem "Your Name Is Second Wife" was published in Constellations, #11. "Topics Over Time With You" appeared in Red Rock Review. This poem was also anthologized in Gathering: A Women Who Submit Anthology (Jamii Publishing).

James Eric Watkins's one-line haiku "night lies quietly against my skin", first published in Acorn #46, was nominated for a Pushcart Prize and a Touchstone Award. James is the editor of the literary journal Flowers & Vortexes.
Michael Edwin Q's short story "The Wait", from his book Twilight Zone for Christians, was adapted into a radio play by Patriotic Remnant. The 8-minute drama, featuring actress Kathy Garver, can be found on YouTube.
