Ceren Ege

Ceren (say Je-ren) Ege is a Turkish-American poet who studied psychology and creative writing at the University of Michigan. After leading poetry workshops for incarcerated youth in her junior year, Ceren's interest honed in on juvenile justice and she is now graduating from Duke Law this May with a JD/MA in Bioethics & Science Policy.
Ceren writes to advocate for bodily autonomy in all stages of life, especially at the end of life, and preaches the power of storytelling and community to heal through narrative connection. She is an avid fan of The Moth and has won storyslams in Ann Arbor and Boston. Her poems have previously appeared in Intima: A Journal of Narrative Medicine and The Normal School. Wherever there is diversity and creative expression is a fine place for Ceren to be. She is currently interested in expanding how she can express and digest art through photos, film, and food.
