Jaime Gill is a queer British writer who in 2022 moved from decades of music and campaigning journalism into fiction. He now lives mostly in Cambodia, working and volunteering with nonprofits across Southeast Asia when he isn't writing. He also reads, runs, boxes, travels, and sometimes socialises at gunpoint.
Jaime has published nearly a hundred short stories in The Missouri Review, The Sun, The Forge, Fractured Lit, The Masters Review, trampset, Pithead Chapel, New Flash Fiction Review, and others. His fiction won a Bridport Prize in 2024, the F(r)iction Flash Prize, New Millennium Writing Award, and Luminaire Prose Award in 2025, and the Columbia Journal Prose Prize in 2026, and has been a finalist for the Tennessee Williams Prize, Hemingway Prize, and the Bath Short Story Award. He's been nominated for a Pushcart Prize three times. He judges for Elegant Magazine and reads for Best of the Net, Fractured Lit, and Consequence. He offers coaching and manuscript support to newer writers, both paid and pro bono.
While he has no pets, children, or spouses, he is keeping some houseplants alive, just about. He's currently writing a commissioned screenplay, a novel, and more short stories. Visit his website, follow him on Bluesky, X, and Instagram, or subscribe to his free, no-spam Substack.
