K.E. Flann is the author of How to Survive a Human Attack: A Guide for Werewolves, Mummies, Cyborgs, Ghosts, Nuclear Mutants, and Other Movie Monsters, which was a New York Times/Wirecutter pick for "Gifts We Want to Give". Her short humor pieces have been published in The Boston Globe, McSweeney's, Weekly Humorist, and elsewhere, and her poetry comprised of subject lines from the social platform Nextdoor has appeared in The Museum of Americana, Light Poetry Magazine, and Points in Case. Her alter ego—a "serious" prose writer—is the author of two award-winning short story collections, a craft book, and some personal essays that can be found in The Washington Post, Slate, and elsewhere.
