Melody Davis' latest book is The Center of Distance, a work of poetry. She is also the author of a critical study, The Male Nude in Contemporary Photography. She has won fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts (1995), the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, the Henry Luce Foundation/American Council of Learned Societies and MetroArts of Harrisburg, PA. She has been named the Poet Laureate of Perry County (PA) and has recently received her doctorate in art history.
