Stacey R. Fruits lives, writes and photographs in Tucson, Arizona. She is the recipient of two previous poetry awards, from Blue Mountain Arts in 1999, and Friends of Acadia in 2000. Much of her new work zooms in on the American West and the red desert that inspires her most intimate artistic expression. Stacey's poetry is published in Conspire, The Adirondack Review, Poet's Canvas, Stirring, Sundress and Spire Press. Her photography gives poetic voice to the horses, cowboys, hinges, boots and rustic trappings that give even the most ordinary days exquisite grit and color.
