Leila Murton Poole Wins the 21st Annual Wergle Flomp Humor Poetry Contest
Leila Murton Poole of Queenstown, New Zealand won the 21st annual Wergle Flomp Humor Poetry Contest sponsored by Winning Writers and co-sponsored by Duotrope. Her entry, "Minnie and Dick's Gender Reveal—Take Two", bested those of 5,186 other poets to receive the $2,000 prize. The Second Prize of $500 was awarded to Hillary Smith of Washington State for "Delilah, My Boss". A special Third Prize of $250 was awarded to Alex Barr of Fishguard, Wales for "Catalog Capers". $3,850 was awarded in all. This contest is free to enter. Read the complete release.
