Billie Kelpin and Jennifer Tubbs Win the 31st Annual Tom Howard/John H. Reid Fiction & Essay Contest Sponsored by Winning Writers
Billie Kelpin of Newport Beach, California won first prize in fiction and $3,000 for her story, "Sylvia". Jennifer Tubbs of Lubbock, Texas won first prize in nonfiction and $3,000 for her essay, "Reflections". 2,407 entries were received from around the world. Mina Manchester judged, assisted by Sarah Halper. $9,000 was awarded in all. Read the winning entries.
