Quantum Shorts Competition
Deadline February 29 (must be received by this date), formerly December 1. Recommended free contest awards top prize of $1,500 and online publication for flash fiction stories, under 1,000 words, that are "clearly inspired by some aspect of quantum physics". For 2020, entries also must contain the phrase "Things used to be so simple". All winners receive a trophy and a one-year digital subscription to ScientificAmerican.com. Previously unpublished stories and stories published after December 1, 2017 are eligible. Content should be suitable for the general public. Authors age 13+ can submit multiple entries online. Sponsored by the Centre for Quantum Technologies at the National University of Singapore.
