Stop the Hate: Youth Speak Out Essay Contest Grades 6-10
Deadline February 16 (must be received by this date), formerly February 10. Neutral free contest sponsored by the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage awards five prizes of $400 to students, $1,000 award for Teacher of the Year, and unspecified cash prizes to schools for anti-bias education for essays, maximum 500 words, on fighting discrimination. Essays must be true accounts, not fictitious stories. 2023 prompt is inspired by lyrics to the African American folk anthem 'This Little Light of Mine'.
