Sequestrum: “Optimism” Issue
Deadline April 15 (must be received by this date). Literary journal Sequestrum seeks unpublished poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction with an "Optimism" theme. Send 1-4 poems, maximum 35 lines each, or one prose piece, maximum 12,000 words. Submission fee is $6.35. Editors say, "We aren't looking for any sickly-sweet submissions...But we'll read heartbreak if we get a little redemption. Give us a mystery with some hope. Poetics with ambition. Humor is fine too. Hell, we'll even take revenge. Revenge is optimistic, right? We want tense, imaginative, literary-quality writing that doesn’t end with gout/the sun being a dried-out prune. That’s all."
