Attack of The Saurus
By John Reinhart
The dictionaries cower in fear
while the complete Shakespeare
runs for cover behind the less nimble
classical texts in Greek.
Modern poetry babbles incoherently,
even the no nonsense nonfiction
was unprepared for this rabid
assault, attack, barrage, battle, battery,
charge, duel, fight, fracas, joust,
melee, offensive, onslaught, siege,
from the previously, until now, earlier,
erstwhile friendly, content, happy,
nice, passive, pleasant, polite, tame,
timid thesaurus.
