1729 Book Prize
Deadline July 31 (must be received by this date), formerly July 15. Neutral free contest from Mason Jar Press awards publication and $1,000 prize for a book-length work. Prize alternates annually between poetry and prose; poetry is the 2023 genre. Entries should be poetry collections, hybrid collections that are primarily poetry, or translations of poetry between 50-75 pages in length. Note that the sponsor "tends to lean toward semi-experimental works with a strong literary bent". Individual pieces may have been published elsewhere, but MS. must be previously unpublished. Submit your completed MS. online, along with a brief cover letter describing your aesthetic and a bio. Be sure to read sponsor's formatting instructions before entering. Mason Jar Press is an independent publisher of "accessible, experimental fiction". No entry fee required, but tip jar contributions are appreciated.
