Blue Heron Book Works: Military Women Anthology
Deadline July 20 (must be received by this date). Founded by novelist Bathsheba Monk, Blue Heron Book Works is an independent publisher of memoirs and series fiction. Authors in their catalogue include Jim McGarrah, Lynnie Godfrey, and Larry Neff. The press is seeking writing by military women (veterans or active duty) which addresses their time in service. Entries may be short stories, essays, articles, poems, or memoirs. No length requirement. Send each piece separately as an MS Word attachment in 12-point font to firstname.lastname@example.org. The anthology will be edited by Paul Heller, author of the Kindle bestseller Last Call: My Mother's Descent into Darkness. Monk, an Army veteran, says, "I think military women are powerful role models (Amazons!) and I'm looking to expand their influence."
