Principia Perspectives Writing Contest
Deadline April 30 (must be received by this date). Neutral free contest awards online publication and $200 top prizes to middle school (grades 6-8) and high school (grades 9-12) students for essays on a theme that changes annually. For 2021, the theme is "family". Sponsor seeks nonfiction pieces that creatively explore questions such as "What have you learned about the role of family? What stories define family for you?" See full writing prompt included in sponsor's rules. Note that although this year's theme was inspired by quarantine and the pandemic, students should not limit their focus to COVID-19. Essays in the middle school category must be between 400-600 words, and essays in the high school category should be between 500-800 words. Complete your entry form, including parent's contact information, and submit your essay online. Sponsored by Prinicipia, a Virginia-based tutoring company.
